I was in a pretty grumpy mood all day today. Certain moneys have not come in, certain projects are on hold because of it, things have not been selling this week here or over at Solid State Circus. I did win like $60 at pokernight last night, but that also means that it was pokernight last night and so I was hung over today.

So! Here is this drawing. I am not sure what the above paragraph has to do with it except that I can tell you I was in quite a mood for about the first half of creating it. Also there are some rules that I had made up that I broke while making this. There is a bit of a paradox in creating works like these. A thing that I have generally believed is that figurative representation in abstract art is a no no. So like usually when I see figurative shit emerging in an abstract composition I put like a bunch of X’s or scribbled all over it until it goes back down into the depths. This time I thought, well hey, what is the harm? And so here you go. I’m not going to tell you what is going on in this picture, because I do still firmly believe that it should be up to the viewer to come up with a story on their own and that is one of the beautiful things about implied narrative. However, I will tell you that I was thinking of disco balls when I made the shiny bits in the background. I was listening to Lost and Safe by The Books and Fantasma by Cornelius.

Of course this drawing is for sale. Use the buttons. You can buy this one as a print as well! I’ll probably add the option to buy the rest as prints in the near future because if you go and re-read that first paragraph you will note the implication that I am desperate for the $$$.
