So Majestic

40"x30" acrylic on canvas

This painting can be read as depicting a dream of The Great Marm, a fictional being of mythological stature. It’s got some nice cartoon like drawing in it and lots of luxurious dripping action like the world inside the painting is washing away, washing away.

I’m developing a wet on wet acrylic technique, and this is the first of my paintings to utilize a spray bottle full of water as a tool for moving paint around. Not only does spraying the painting keep the paint nice and wet, but I can use it to affect dripping action in specific spots on the painting, and I can use spurts of water to blast paint to one side or another.

“Long Live the Beneficent and Powerful Marm” is painted on a 1 1/2″ gallery profile canvas with staple free edges. It is ready to hang with or without a frame.
