Here is the second painting I made while at Arthouse Garana in July, 2011. Check out the description of that experience in the post for the previous painting, Away From Home.

The title, “Put That on the Table” is a little misleading, as I actually made this painting on the floor. You might think, oh my goodness why does he keep talking about having to put the canvas on the floor or on the table or whatever, and I’ll tell you it makes a big difference. For one thing, you can have pools of very wet paint on a horizontal canvas and all the paint doesn’t just go running down to the bottom.

In this painting I start playing around more with pools of wet paint on the canvas. The dark blues and the whites especially. The dark dots are floated on the white, and the paints mix together and move around.
