There are a lot of layers in this painting. One of those layers is sort of cartoony and graphic, harkening back to my mid 2010 paintings. This layer is largely buried, but you can see some of it in the very upper left corner. See that black line separating the dark green/blue from the orange/red? Yeah, that’s totally 2010. Plus those googly eye dots? There is also a poured medium layer, which you can see in the upper right, that sort of blue green streak with all the veins and capillaries pushing outward from the center line. Then there is like a messy watered down lighter greens and lavender which I mixed up with droplets of linseed oil to create a pocked or cratered texture. Then there are some black lines on top which look a lot like some of the other black forms that have appeared in a number of my other paintings which suggest pairs of eyes in this painting.
“Land of the Tango” is painted on a 18″ x 24″ canvas that is 3/4″ deep. It does not require a frame and comes equipped with a hanging wire in the back for easy installation on the wall of your choice. The edges of the canvas are unfinished and show a number of drip marks.

Hi Blake,
After staring at your artworks for hours I have decided I need one in my house! Your works are amazing and blow me away! I was wondering is it possible to ship to Australia? (please don’t say no)
Kind Regards,
Alexandra
