Profile
Blake Brasher grew up in North Pole, Alaska and began painting at age three. He is inspired by everything in the natural world from super novae to microscopic organisms to quantum mechanics. His paintings are abstract and experimental. He has been living in the Boston area since 1997.

Blue Glass Cafe, Hancock Tower: Boston MA – May-July 2012
Two large (4’ x 6’) paintings and two smaller (30” x 40”) paintings are prominently displayed in the Blue Glass Cafe on the first floor of the Hancock Tower in Boston’s Copley Square.
Dogpatch workspace: Cambridge, ma – March – May 2012
Blake exhibited five paintings in a group show at Dogpatch Labs, a shared office space/startup incubator in Kendall Square.
BioMed Exhibition: Cambridge MA – July – December 2011
Three large pieces were included in a group show in a gallery in Kendall Square.
Arthouse Garana: Garana, Romania – July 2011
Blake showed thirteen paintings completed during a two week residency program in the rural Romanian village of Garana in a group show composed of the participants of the residency. One of his paintings was selected to be included in the permanent collection of the Art Museum in Resita.

Blake participated in a one week international artists’ residency program in Verbania, Italy along with 8 other artists from around the world. The residency program was sponsored by the Commune di Verbania and local businesses and provided the artists with room, board, materials, and studio space for the duration of the residency.
